I woke up from a rather strange dream after "hearing" myself say something. When I came to I still remembered it. I wrote it out as quick as I could so as not to forget it. Here it is:

"I am no less a man today than I was the day before. And yet, I will be no greater a man tomorrow than I am today; for tomorrow has yet to come, and I have yet to live it."

Back to bed with me.

So I finally watched "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift", and I'm left with mixed reactions. The story is, well, lacking. It doesn't have much depth, nor is it even remotely plausible. Leave it to writers to write something that will sell versus something that is true to the writer. The cars are yet again a bit too extravagant. Too many stickers, NOS, nothing but chrome wheels, etc. Give me a break. Chrome wheels is hardly JDM. The drifting was nice, but it's too bad more than half of it was CG.

Now, for all its shortcomings, it does have a single redeeming point: Han (played by Sung Kang). He's the calm in the storm of a horrible story, the philosophical center everyone around him. It only makes sense to kill him off to move the story along. I mean, you can't have such an outstanding character in such a horrid story, he must go. And then there's Vin Diesel. *sigh* The man needs to get away from this genre and try something else. "I've got nothing but time." That may be true Vin, but your career doesn't.

Instead of going to sleep like I should have 3 hours ago, I've been sitting here watching Bleach. Taken alone, sure, that seems normal enough, but I've already watched all the released episodes. "Were you watching unreleased episodes?" I wish. No, I was watching older ones, looking for something. Oddly enough I found it.

You see, I've been trying to figure something out, and it struck me, I remember hearing the answer in the dialog between Ichigo and Zangetsu (Ichigo's sword). I'll wait for you to stop the flashes of me in a nut house, however true they may be. Their conversation went something like this:

Zangetsu: "Do you want to fight? Do you want to win? Or do you want to live? Which is it?"
Ichigo: "I want to win."
Zangetsu: "I cannot hear you."
Ichigo: "Just fighting... is meaningless. Just surviving... is meaningless. I wanna win. I... WANT TO WIN!"
Zangetsu: "Very well. Then I shall take you there."

Ok, it went exactly like that; I've never been one for paraphrasing. I feel like I've found the resolve to finally do the things I've shied away from. I've not so much grabbed the handle of the sword, as I've chosen where to let the blade strike. Did that make sense? Maybe I should sleep before I post this. Then again, maybe not.

And a note to myself... I really should start posting like normal people. Maybe something about my brother's dog. Oo! My short-lived experience with valium. Check please!

I figure that in 3 more years I'll have a full head of grey hair. Sure, it started off slowly with a single spot 9 years ago (holy crap I feel old), but it's starting to pick up the pace. These days I've gotten another spot which is about 2 and a half times the size of the original, and I regularly find grey hairs scattered about my head. So long as I have hair, I'm okay with it. I'm still trying to picture myself with all grey hair... I think I'll colour it.

    <lj:music>Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Lee Shore</lj:music>

I've never actually designed anything with the intent of anyone else appreciating it. For me it's always been about creating it, whether it worked in the end wasn't important. Some of you know that last Saturday morning a friend of my friends that became a friend of mine hung himself, and I was asked by my friend Jason to create a design for a memorial sticker. He knew what he wanted it to be, but had no idea how to do it. If you've never been asked to do this type of thing, let me tell you, it's humbling. In the end it wasn't exactly what he wanted, but he had no complaints and I was happy with it. Tubby (James) pointed out something I thought was a screw up on my part; the tires in the sticker I did have the center blocks all meshed together, whereas the source is all seperate. Dillon was notorious for always having damn near bald tires, even on the trail. An odd way to connect the sticker to him, but everyone loves it.

Source:

Sticker:

Making the sticker really drove it home to me that he was actually gone. Writing this now reminds me of it. Seeing the slide show his girlfriend made, wow. I don't ever want to have to do this again.

The High Priestess is a card of intuition, instinct and hidden knowledge. She knows all your secrets, you can hide nothing from her. Yet you will never know the secrets she herself protects. If well aspected in a Tarot spread, this card can indicate the use of intuition to solve problems; trust to your instincts.
